Gladdeskin happened when two sisters were in the quest of finding a natural substitute without any needs of extra additives and preservatives, and which can be applied safely on skin and hair. After a scrupulous research, we meticulously picked our main product, the Shea butter, a glorifying natural ingredient that has been gifted to us by the mother nature. It is vastly used in high end beauty brands to small business owners like us. We reached out several Shea butter distributors who have their own farm to learn about the Shea butter market and it was just shocking and saddening. Traditional Shea butter churning process consume immense about of labor hours. Children works to help their parents in various ways to reduce the work load. What's even saddening is 'NOT EVERY FARMER IS WEALTHY ENOUGH TO GET ORGANIC OR FAIR TRADE' certifications. So small range to medium range farmers have very less opportunities to export their Shea butter and make money since, us, the rest of the world mostly prefer the 'labeled' products because they're more reliable. We did years of research, meeting different people and trying out their Shea butter from their home farms and compared it with high end beauty brands Shea butters and the results were undoubtedly amazing. Whether they have labels or not, the natural Shea butter that freshly made from farms, in fact, was rich in its texture, smell and of course it's benefits. We support these smaller farms, we support these African brothers and sisters and most importantly small farmers. Shea butter has many incredible benefits that anybody can enjoy.
