Self Confidence.
According to Google, self-confidence is an attitude about your skills and abilities. It means you accept and trust yourself and have a sense of control in your life. You know your strengths and weaknesses well, and have a positive view of yourself. You set realistic expectations and goals, communicate assertively, and can handle criticism.
Well, as most of us know, it’s one of the hardest places to get to in life.
Almost everyone has been there before. I haven’t even said where and you already know what I’m talking about.
That place of not wanting to go out because you think everyone will have something to say in their heads about you, not wanting to speak up for yourself because you think whatever you have to say doesn’t matter, even not wanting to do what you’d like to thinking everyone will essentially, judge.
But here’s the truth, and we know it too, no one actually has the time to give anyone that much thought.
But to come to terms with this alone can possibly take years, and personally, I think not developing self confidence stems from how we were raised.
I have friends who were compared to people their age about the silliest things growing up. Being told to their face, by their parents, that they aren’t good enough.
I’ve been very fortunate to be able to say I was one of those kids who was raised to know I’m not taking up space, and whatever I have to say or do matters. I never had a self confidence issue and I never even knew it was something people struggled with until I had friends open up to me.
Don’t get me wrong, struggling from self confidence can come from so many other factors.
It doesn’t matter where it comes from, it matters how you change that for yourself.
Here are some tips that could help:
TIP 1: The way you talk to yourself – The words you feed yourself hold so much value. Just telling yourself you’re beautiful, smart, brave and courages immediately has a positive effect on you. It might not change your mindset overnight, but you will notice change with time.
TIP 2: Play with your strengths – You know exactly what your strengths and weaknesses are, focus on your strengths, gain your confidence from what you know you will exceed at. Once you’ve got that covered, work on turnimg your weaknesses into your strengths.
TIP 3: Convince yourself – Your mind is more powerful than you think. The more you tell yourself/ manifest things that you want/ a better version of yourself you’d like to become, it’ll work out and eventually happen
