Top 11 Skills Needed to Become a Physiotherapist

My Future Career

I am 18 years old this year, it is the deciding phase for my future career and it is very important. I have decided to pursue the career of Physiotherapist. However, one common question hits me all the time, Why?

In my entire life, i have always enjoyed helping out others and it always gave me a great sense of happiness and fulfillment. To me, it is one of the best feelings that i have ever experienced, i think it works the same for all of you out there too. This is one of the reasons why i selected to pursue physiotherapist because it is a profession that helps patients to recover from their greatest fear, Pain! Most importantly, physiotherapy treatments can also prevent injury for our body so that we will enjoy life more without having to suffer from great pain.

Why it Won't Hurt | All Care Dentistry

Of course, many people will ask me why not consider being a doctor. I have been a patient myself before and also observed others such as my family members that has been a patient before. Drugs issued to heal our sickness tends to bring out negative effects and it might be even more serious than the actual sickness itself. My mother was a Stage 3 Colon cancer survivor, 6 years ago, she was still strongly fighting off cancer and getting all sorts of treatments. From Chinese medicine, to Western medicine. Fortunately, she had successfully cleared off the cancer cells within her body by that period of time and ever since then she is taking good care of her body, as well as having better sense of health awareness. But there is still one flaw during her treatments for cancer, it is the side effects. These side effects affected my mom a lot and she needed tons of rest to relieve from these effects. Seeing my mom suffer like this also made me feel that not all drugs are good for the body and i am not blaming the drugs now. I understand that every scientist and pharmacist and trying their level best to research and produce better drugs for all sorts of sickness. I am also very thankful to all healthcare providers that not only made my family’s life easier but everyone else’s too. Therefore, i selected to be a drug free healthcare provider which in return is also a way to give back to society by helping my entire family go through the tough journey 6 years ago.

The biggest turning point in my life that made me select the career of physiotherapist is because i myself have ankle pain issues. My parents have brought me to all sorts of places from hospitals to Chinese Tit Tar. Until today i still cannot find the reason why am i suffering so much of pain and i hope to deepen my studies to really find out what is happening to my ankle. All treatments i went to can relieve my pain quickly, but when a slightly larger movement is made, the pain is back, except Physiotherapy. From my understanding, physiotherapy have treatments that not only can help us relieve pain but also to prevent our injuries. After i went to a physiotherapy center, my ankle problems decreased a lot and it really helped me continue to play in sports. All the physiotherapists there are very kind and friendly, in the center we will each be assign to a specific physiotherapist so that you will feel well taken cared of and have a sense of companionship.
