If you want to buy a house now, you can opt for 100% loan. Developers are giving all kinds of perks to help buyers especially youngsters who do not have the money to pay the down payment. Buying a house 40 years ago means you need to have at least 10% down payment and a steady income to take a loan. My dad was retired and only my brother and sister were working. Meaning it was not enough to build the dream home we wanted. We shifted from one rented house to another and moved from one residential area to another for 15 years before my brother saved up enough to buy a house. It was the happiest moment for my parents. He bought the cozy single story semi-detached house which became THE HOME to all of us. Love, laughter and enjoy was shared with all. Relatives and friends were always welcomed with open hands. My mom being the most generous person on earth, will ensure that any visitor does not go off without having a meal in our home. My brother was retiring and he decided to pay off the loan and it was good to be debt free.

My children spent most of their time in this home under my mom’s care. They spent their day time with my mom and siblings until I fetched them back after work. 2003 became the most unforgettable year in our lives. I was at work and my boss told me my brother’s house was on fire and some of my colleagues have gone to help. My mind was racing with all kinds of thoughts. I could not contact anyone, the phone line was out. Hand phones were not so easily available at that time. None of us had a hand phone. I was worried about the safety of my mom, my children who were 6 years, 3 years and 1 .5 years old. It was the longest drive from my office to the house. When I reached, all I saw was ashes and burnt structure.

My Mom and children were saved by neighbours and colleagues who came by to help.
Indians say that when bad luck comes it comes in a series. We came to know that when my brother paid off the house, he forgot to take insurance. That meant, we are back to square one without any fund to rebuild the house. At that moment, I realized how homeless people felt and that incident changed my life. I vowed to help anyone who needs a home and guide them to own one.
I think God received my message and the opportunity to join a real estate agency came knocking on my doors when I went for a training. One of the participant approached me and asked whether I was interested in becoming an agent. My heart was jumping with joy! My journey into real estate started then and it is my dream to make everyone own at least one home where they can eat, sleep and be happy with their loved ones.
