4 Questions to Identify a leader
I am very sure that everyone has heard about ways to be a good leader, the benefits and also the purpose of it. But have you ever wondered what really is the way to identify potential leaders? According to a podcast by John Maxwell, there are 4 questions that we can ask a certain person to identify whether or not they are eligible to become a leader.
First, ask them are they actually Grounded. What does grounded means actually, it means that the leader is capable of dreaming big as well as keeping the dream possible to achieve. There is a saying that goes by ‘Head in the clouds’, a great leader can not only have a big goal but can also keep it in the reality as well as achieving it possibly.
The next question to ask is are they Growing. Everyone is capable of growing not just physically but also mentally, but many people tend to stop having the thought of growing once they are in their comfort zone. As much as we would like to enjoy in our comfort zone, to be a leader, we should always continue to grow. Of course, we can take a break once in a while, but once done, we must be ready for our next journey. A true leader will always stay hungry and never stop getting better.
The third question is to ask are they Grateful. In our journey towards our goals, we worked our best to achieve in that particular goal but we should also be always thankful and grateful to those who helped us along the way. Personally, i will thank everyone who came into my life no matter assisting be or bringing me trouble. To be thankful to those who assisted me is pretty understandable but some of you might not be able to understand why i am grateful to those to brought me trouble before. All the troubles that i went through made me a stronger and better person today and without them, i do not think that there will be challenges ahead of me to conquer.
The final question is to ask are they Generous. The more generous we are, the more people we bless. A leader who is generous will tend to inspire more of their followers to give back to society and be nicer to one another. This is what the society needs right now, we need to tackle problems such as racial harmony, equality and sexual harassment. Therefore, more generous leaders should be produced in order to bring out the best society there is for everyone’s well-being.
In conclusion, we should always stay Grounded, Growing, Grateful and Generous in order to be a healthy and strong leaders.
