Throughout my 20+ years in computer repair career, from Microsoft Windows NT to recent Windows 10 version 2004, the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) is always a killer and scare the hell of out normal users. Most of the time, this type of error gives you a hint of what has happened. Other times, the error code gives you no hint, or you can’t make a sense out of it. With Windows 10, it tells you a little more, but as a non-tech, you still won’t be able to understand what it is about.
True that you can Google it up and do your best to fix with thousands of suggestions posted online, but why do you want to waste those hours of reading and testing, at the end the same error still shows? This is when you call a tech. By this time, it may be TOO late. You may have done more damage.
If you are not a computer tech, it is always the best to call a tech savvy friend first to ask, get a suggestion, and follow his/her suggestion as a start. There is no harm getting help. Even if the suggestion doesn’t solve your problem, it won’t hurt much.
My friends always call me to get help whenever there is a problem with their gadgets, be it computers, mobiles, TV boxes, etc. I do my best to answer their requests and give constructive suggestions. To my best knowledge, less than 50% of the time, those suggestions work, reason being by the time they come to me, other measures have been taken on their own.
In summary, whenever you have a problem with your gadget, find a tech savvy friend, ask and implement 1 or 2 suggestions only. After that, find a professional tech.
